I can't help but feel a sense of pride knowing that my classmate, Greg Garcia, has gone on to achieve such great success in the television industry. I especially loved My Name is Earl which my brother actually introduced to me. Growing up in Maryland like Garcia, I automagically loved everything about My Name is Earl because even though it was filmed in California, all of the place names were in Maryland.

Garcia's big break came when he created and produced the hit television show My Name is Earl, which earned him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. The show, which ran from 2005 to 2009, followed the misadventures of Earl Hickey, a small-time crook who sets out to right all the wrongs he's committed in his life after winning a $100,000 lottery ticket.
Now, more than a decade later, Garcia has returned to television with his newest show, Sprung. The show, which stars Martha Plimpton as the lead character, is a comedy about a group of friends in their 30s who are navigating the complexities of love, relationships, and adulthood.
While Garcia and I may have gone our separate ways after graduating from Frostburg State, I am excited to see my former classmate's continued success and look forward to seeing what else Garcia has in store for the world of television
